NATHAN FLYNN

My passion has always been health and fitness. Growing up I enjoyed an active sporting career, and have played competitively in Tennis and Cricket, and more recently I completed several triathlons, and two half ironman races in Torquay and Singapore.

I worked as Stadium Manager at Insportz Sandringham for 6 years before I followed my passion to become a Personal Trainer. I have since worked in the fitness industry for 10 years and still enjoy every minute of it. Before opening my own studio, I was Personal Training Manager at Fitness First for 4 years.

My experiences as a Personal Trainer, has shown me the extreme power of movement in helping people to live better lives. My biggest strength is my ability to create a positive change in someone’s body by applying some fascial freeing, a mobiliser, or a simple exercise. My passion is fitness based play, injury prevention, and corrective exercise.

I routinely work with local sporting clubs and athletes to help improve movement quality, and overcome outdated approaches to fitness that are dominant in the sporting club culture. I facilitate both group and individual injury prevention, conditioning, and rehab strategies for the players.

I am a current facilitator for Personal Training Academy (PTA) for Certificate 3 & 4 in Fitness, and also a presenter and co-author (with my wife) of a Myofascial Release course for Personal Trainers. I have mentored hundreds of personal trainers, and currently run group and individualised mentoring programs.

I am currently training with Anatomy Trains Australia to become a Structural Integration Therapist by February 2019! So far I have completed 168 hours of certified training.

PRISCILLA FLYNN

As a Movement Specialist and Functional Medicine practitioner, I thoroughly enjoy empowering people to take control of their own health and fitness. The exciting evolution of integrative fitness, and functional medicine is more sustainable and enjoyable, and a total pleasure to share with clients.

I am a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, and Kresser Institute Trained Provider in functional medicine and evolutionary health. My journey into Functional Medicine was the result of almost two decades living with chronic illness and pain. I have vast personal and clinical experience in addressing chronic fatigue, hormone imbalance, SIBO, Mold illness and gut health.

Through functional testing, an ancestral approach to nutrition, intelligent movement and lifestyle optimization, I work with clients in person or online, to identify healing opportunities, and treat the root cause of health problems rather than just the symptoms. I have a keen interest in helping clients with chronic pain, gut health, mental illness, nutrition, chronic fatigue, and toxicity challenges.

I have been in the fitness industry since 2012, which has included managing both Group Fitness, and Personal Training at Fitness First. I am currently studying with Anatomy Trains Australia to become a Structural Integration Therapist by 2019, and have completed 168 hours of the training thus far.

STU SHARP

Growing up I was always an active kid. If I wasn’t on my BMX, I would be kicking a soccer ball. I have played soccer competitively in Italy, and worked as a ski instructor in New Zealand.

I am a qualified chef and over the past 15 years have worked in some of Melbourne’s top restaurants. Fed up of being overweight and how it made me feel, I knew a change was necessary, not only for me but to set a good example for my  family.
As a result I recently made the leap towards a career in fitness. I still love cooking, but now it’s about making healthy, nutritious meals for my family. My wife and I have three children.

Since making the decision to step out of the kitchen and to pursue a career as fitness professional I have lost over 15 kg. I now want to help other people reach their health and fitness goals.

SAMANTHA WOODLAND

Health and Fitness has always been a passion of mine. I have grown up playing team sports, to now competing in endurance running and triathlons. Recently qualifying and completing the Ironman World Championships. This allows me to understand the demand of sport on the body and tips and tricks to prevent and manage injury and greater performance.

I graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences mastering in Podiatric Practice in 2012.  As a Podiatrist I enjoy ensuring people remain injury free,  keep people moving and have a special interest in blister management, musculo-skeletal injuries and rehabilitation. I undertook my Cert III and IV in Fitness as movement and strength is important to ensure people live a long life on their feet.

When training clients I love to see people reach their full potential and encourage them to see the benefits for their lifestyle.

The best thing about the semi-private PT sessions is that you get a personalised session but have one or two others to share the fun with! With such a small group, Nath or P are always on hand to help you get out that last rep, correct your technique and hold you accountable to your results. You also get to try some exercises that aren’t in the group classes, or lift a bit heavier as you know someone is there to support you. Recovery in between exercises is always targeted, so you get exactly what your body needs on the day. Doing two sessions a week means I get variety in what I do, but can also see my progress each and every week.
