Personal Trainer Mentorships

 

Have you finished your certificate IV in fitness and looking for hands on experience to help establish a career in the health & fitness? We run both private and small group mentorships for enthusiastic trainers looking to take their skills to the next level. The directors Priscilla and Nathan Flynn have a combined fitness industry experience of 27 years, and have spent tens of thousands of dollars training with the best. We have mentored over 100 trainers in both big commercial gyms, and in a private studio environment. Priscilla and Nathan have written a 'Self Myofascial Release Course" for personal trainers, and Nathan is a current facilitator for certificate 3 & 4 in Fitness, at PT Academy. Whatever type of facility you work in, we can help you to succeed and last an industry with one of the highest turnovers of trainers.

Our mentorship program is practical, engaging and fun, and will empower you with simple strategies and techniques to help you establish a long term career in Personal Training. We offer private and group mentorships to help teach you some of the most innovative and progressive systems, tools and practices available to the fitness industry. Our mentorship is a great way to set yourself ahead of the curve to be able to expertly deal with a variety of health conditions, injuries, and goals your clients will face. With an aging population, and rates of chronic disease and obesity higher than ever, being able to appreciate, honor and improve the importance of wellness in your clients programs is crucial to your success.

 

4 Week Private Mentoring Structure

Over the 4 weeks you'll be shown advanced movement strategies not taught in Certificate 3 or 4, which will help you cater towards a rapidly evolving industry that needs pain and injury management, movement enhancement, corrective exercise, wellness and appropriate training intensity management.

Week 1: Smart Client Screening Tools for better understanding how and why to train your client

Week 2: Observing Movement - creating powerful and fast change

Week 3: Programming Intelligent Movement & Heart Rate traning

Week 4: Anatomy Trains: Mobilisers, fascial release and loading the lines

The 4 week structure includes:

  • 4 x 90 min mentoring sessions (6 hours face to face)

  • Ongoing email, text and phone support

  • 1 month of unlimited group classes at In2great Fitness to help you experience what you are learning

  • Weekly Handouts and resources

  • Business and client templates
     

The cost for the 4 week mentorship is $599

8 Week Private Mentoring Structure

Over the 8 weeks you'll be shown advanced movement strategies not taught in Certificate 3 or 4, which will help you cater towards a rapidly evolving industry that needs pain and injury management, movement enhancement, corrective exercise, wellness and appropriate training intensity management.

Week 3: Fascial Freeing Tools & Techniques to enhance movement, avoid injury, reduce pain, and improve recovery.
Week 4: Understanding the 4Q movement system, and catering to your clients movement style for smarter programming
Week 5: Heart Rate training: how and why training with a heart rate monitor accelerates results and improves enjoyment.
Week 6: Anatomy Trains in movement: Mobilisers, fascial release and loading the lines
Week 7: Anatomy Trains continued
Week 8: Summary Implementing what you have learned in a practical training session

 

The 8 week mentoring Structure includes:

  • 1 x 2 hour session a week face to face

  • Ongoing email, text and phone support

  • 2 months of unlimited group classes at In2great Fitness to help you experience what you are learning

  • Weekly Handouts and resources

  • Business and client templates

  • Class team teaching to practice skills real time


Cost $1599 (payment plans and afterpay available)

Nathan is so generous with his time and his knowledge. He makes sure you are understanding all concepts by using different and easy examples.

 

When I started  the program I felt a bit lost as far as what type of trainer I wanted to be. I was also slightly overwhelmed and somewhat confused by all the conflicting information there is in the health and fitness industry. At the end of the mentorship I had a clear idea of how to screen my clients, understand their goals and motivations and how to effectively write programs by determining their style of training. It basically gave me the direction I needed to become the trainer that I am today.

Some of the valuable lessons I learnt with Nathan were not taught in my Cert III and Cert IV,  but I believe them to be very important. Concepts such as why it’s important to train with heart rate monitors, using non-conventional equipment that encourages you to move in all planes of motions, the benefits and importance of myofascial and osteo fascial release and the importance of a client’s self-assessment on how they are feeling (mind and body) before a workout, so they can take responsibility in how intense they can and should work out that day.  Also, the great value of play in training. Adding games makes people move without thinking too much. It helps prepare both their body and mind for movement.

I highly recommend this mentorship. Nathan has so much knowledge and genuine care to help you become a better trainer. I am very grateful to him and his program.

I completed the In2Great Fitness 4 week mentorship in 2016. This mentorship was an invaluable experience and significantly advanced my knowledge and skill set as a personal trainer. Nathan incorporated a great balance of both practical and theory based learning to ensure all content was well understood and opened my eyes to a number training principles/considerations that are not otherwise taught in your standard cert III and IV courses. The in2great fitness mentorship is suited to both new, and experienced trainers looking for practical hands on experience in the field. This mentorship provides an environment to learn and covers a variety of topics including but not limited to:  programming for energy system development, mappng exercises to myofascial lines (tri-planar movement), and myofascial and osteo-fascial freeing/release. I took part in In2great fitness mentorship program and found the experience to be amazing! Great knowledge presented from In2great coming from their vast experience and learning. In the mentorship I learnt a new questionnaire style diving into what clients goals are, their style of training (traditional/progressive/hybrid) and their why it’s important, and how to program it. We covered how to look at your clients movement and how to give them quick changes using Myofasical release, movement and mobilisers, and using heart rate monitors for HR variability zones for benefits. The knowledge you are getting out of this mentorship is just incredible!

The course was great, it was so much more then just 'rolling' Nathan's extensive knowledge and delivery were second to none. I particularly liked the small group environment it allowed plenty of time for questions and to really understand the 'why' just as much as the 'how' before moving on to the next component.

 

Being a very visual / practical learner the movement assessment was really great, it also allowed me to move my body and feel energised. Best part / takeaway was some really great tools to use straight away - I came home and put my new skills to work on my husband - he played his best round of golf on Sunday he has in a very long time - he thinks I'm awesome!
